Regulation M-B is the ruleset the 2026 World Championships are played under, in Pokémon Champions rather than Scarlet and Violet — the Championship Series moved platform on 1 June 2026. It is doubles at level 50, and 310 Pokémon are legal in it, of which 76 are Mega Evolutions.
The mechanic that defines it is Mega Evolution. Terastallization does not exist in Pokémon Champions, so the Tera type that shaped the last few years of VGC is simply gone and the Mega slot is the decision a team is built around instead. Anything written for Scarlet and Violet VGC transfers badly for exactly that reason.
Across 1,764,686 battles, 281 Pokémon were played often enough to produce statistics. The top of the field is Kingambit at 36.8%, Incineroar at 33.9%, Garchomp at 33.2% — and the gap between first and tenth is 36.8% to 17.5%, which is a format with a clear top rather than an open one.
The move everyone brings is Protect, at an expected 3.93 copies per team; the most common held item is Focus Sash at 0.78. The tier list bands every measured Pokémon by usage, and the move, item and ability lists break the rest of it down.
The regulation closes on 9 September 2026 and a new one follows. Everything on this site that depends on it — legality, usage, tiers, sets — is generated from the format files and Smogon's published statistics on every build, so the flip is a rebuild rather than a rewrite. That is deliberate: a page about a format that is edited by hand is wrong within weeks.
